Hugh Jackman's secret? He didn't know wolverines are real

In the last twenty years, comic-book movies have seen Three Spider-Men, Three Hulks, Two Batmen, Two Supermen and Two Fantastic Fours, but the one thing that has stayed consistent during those times - Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.

It was a well-guarded secret for quite some time, but it turns out that the Wolverine was his own worst enemy in James Mangold's Logan. "And I said, 'I've been doing this thing with wolves, ' and he goes, 'You know you're not a wolf, right?' I said, 'Well, there's no such thing as a wolverine.'" According to Jackman, Singer replied "'Go to the zoo, dude, '" before Jackman added that he "literally didn't know it existed". And he levels with her in a way that is so honest, and, I think, out of character for these kind of movies, again it's more of a straight dramatic scene than kind of an action scene and I love both of their work in it.

"The idea of casting someone else as Wolverine is just not something I can think about".

He recalled: "He said, 'Are you sort of walking amusing, what's going on?' And I said, 'I've been doing this thing with wolves, ' and he goes, 'You know you're not a wolf, right?' I said, 'Well, there's no such thing as a wolverine.' And he said; 'Go to the zoo, dude.' I literally didn't know it existed". (The irony of an Australian actor not believing in one of the Northern Hemisphere's crazier animals apparently being lost on all involved.) "I said, 'Well, there's no such thing as a wolverine, '" Jackman said. "He said, 'Are you sort of walking amusing, what's going on?' And I said, 'I've been doing this thing with wolves, ' and he goes, 'You know you're not a wolf, right?'"

For those who are similarly unaware, a wolverine is a mammal that resembles a small bear but is actually the largest member of the weasel family.

Hugh Jackman has shared his thoughts regarding "Logan" villain X-24 and how he initially felt uneasy about portraying the character himself in the film.

The 48-year-old Logan actor cleared up any rumors that he might star in Deadpool 2 alongside his former X-Men Origins: Wolverine co-star Ryan Reynolds during a recent interview. Let us know in the comments below...
