Destiny 2 on PC might trail behind the console versions

"As Destiny fans, we were excited to learn that the sequel was coming to PC", Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime said.

Take a look at the below video from Destiny expert Arreks, who also has a few ideas which point towards Bungie also introducing some sort of grenade launcher into the game. In addition to that Activision and Bungie have revealed new and existing licensee partners for Destiny 2s merchandising program.

You should also expect more details of the beta planned for this summer, although as with everything Destiny-related the PlayStation 4 version will be getting first dibs.

The broadcast was streamed globally in four languages and emphasised that the game will offer a fresh start to all players with no previous knowledge or background needed. To defeat the Red Legion and confront Ghaul, you must reunite humanity's scattered heroes, stand together, and fight back to reclaim our home. More importantly, we got a look at the very first campaign mission titled "Homecoming". When the Red Legion invaded, they completely ignored this sector of the City in their takeover. Of course with the new game comes a multitude of new weapons. At first they think it could just be the raging thunderstorm outside, but soon an armada of Cabal ships arrive and begin a massive assault.

Check out the official synopsis and stellar trailer below and tell us if you'll help kick 'em where it hurts when Destiny 2 drops for PS4, Xbox One and PC platforms on September 8. Players can pick a landing zone, explore, and seamlessly jump into other activities in game.

Raids and Nightfalls get a more social-focused approach to matchmaking called "Guided Games", which ties into the new Clan system.

However, it's not the only option available for long-time Destiny fans. It's now unclear whether Destiny 2 will also get 4K support on consoles by way of the PS4 Pro and Xbox Project Scorpio, so this may be a PC-only feature.
