Bachelor Chris Soules Allegedly Kills Farmer in Fatal Hit and Run

According to the Buchanan County Sheriff's Office, Chris Soules was taken into custody on Monday night, 8:20 pm after a fatal crash occurred between a tractor-trailer and a pickup truck. According to police, Soules fled the scene, but he left his truck behind.

According to the criminal complaint, obtained by ET, the general probable cause lists "admission/statements, caused property damage, operating motor vehicles, possessed alcoholic beverage/containers, identified by witnesses, near scene of crime and caused personal injury". Soules, who is from Arlington, Iowa, is well known for starring in the 19th season of the reality show "The Bachelor".

Are you surprised to hear that Chris Soules was arrested for fleeing the scene of a crash? Chris's pickup truck allegedly slammed into the tractor, sending Kenny into a roadside ditch.

Police also noted that Soules must check in with a probation officer regarding his ankle bracelet monitor, and had to turn in his passport, as he was scheduled to film something out of the country that was Bachelor related.

For those reasons, and "because Mr. Soules is showing he's not cooperating with law enforcement or surrendering himself at any time", the prosecutor requested Soules be released on $10,000 bond. His spokesman, Stan Rosenfield, issued a statement saying Soules "was devastated" to learn that Mosher died.

Police finally arrested Soules for "leaving the scene of a fatal auto accident", a Class D felony, according to the Buchanan County Sheriff's Office. He is now charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident, but could face additional charges as the investigation continues. It confirmed that a person was killed, but said it wouldn't release further information "pending the investigation and notification of family". Soules will make his first appearance in court Tuesday in Buchanan County.

HollywoodLifers, our thoughts are with Kenny's family during this hard time.

Soules' lawyers, Sean and Molly Spellman, didn't immediately reply to messages seeking comment. He is being held in lieu of $10,000 bail.

At the end of his season as The Bachelor, Soules proposed to Chicago fertility nurse Whitney Bischoff, but their relationship ended shortly after the show.
