Antoine Griezmann targets Atletico Madrid trophies amid Man Utd comments

Antoine Griezmann targets Atletico Madrid trophies amid Man Utd comments

The French striker has been heavily linked with a record-breaking move to Old Trafford this summer.

"If I have to move today it will be no problem".

However, one consistent name stated as a possible arrival before 2017-18 has been Atletico Madrid and France forward Antoine Griezmann.

"It may be England, which is in fashion, Germany, China or the United States but I'm ready to go". "Winning titles is what I will look for this summer when deciding on my future".

Reputed Sky Sports' Spanish football expert Guillem Balague believes that Antoine Griezmann would join Manchester United this summer if they qualified for the Champions League. The midfielder has been at his combative best for the Red Devils this season and was recently rewarded with the club's Player of the Year award. Atletico have finished La Liga in 3rd place and been eliminated from the UCL semifinals by city rivals Real Madrid. A defeat at the hands of Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium proved too costly and Tottenham added to United's struggle by defeating Mourinho's men 2-1 at the White Hart Lane, in what was the final game at the stadium.

The Portuguese, whose Man United side won the Europa League on Wednesday, was asked about the Griezmann rumors in the aftermath.

Of course, all these media outings from the former Real Sociedad star could be a ploy to get an improved contract in Spain and push his current team to match his ambitions, but it's a very unusual way to go about it, at least for the second reason, since he risks alienating himself to Atletico's fanbase.

Mata told Cadena Ser after lifting the Europa League trophy: "When I was at school a six out of 10 was considered OK".

Griezmann could sign as early as next month, with the Independent saying the deal is expected to be done by the end of June, at the latest.
