You could nearly hear the scary theme from "Jaws" as a new shark advisory was in effect Thursday in Long Beach where a group of the feared voracious animals was spotted in shallow beach waters.

On Saturday, as many as 20 juvenile great white sharks were spotted in the same area, prompting a similar advisory.

But that's exactly what beachgoers in California heard broadcast from a helicopter loudspeaker as they paddleboarded in the waters off Capistrano Beach in Orange County on Wednesday.

Also on Wednesday afternoon, about five sharks have been spotted in the water about 50 feet off the Long Beach shoreline. They are advising you exit the water in a calm manner. When one's spotted close to the shore, a shark advisory is kept in place until the beachfront has been shark-free for a full day. Another group of 10 great white sharks were spotted off Long Beach.

Shark sightings actually aren't all that uncommon.

The area has been under shark advisory after a woman was bitten there on 29 April.

"We haven't had any reports of anyone being bumped or charged, just observations of them either swimming or breaching", he said.

The fire department warned beach goers to enter the water at their own risk.
