Second quarter 2017 - The Company anticipates net revenue between $2.28B and $2.32B, representing FX-Neutral growth of 5% - 7%, with non-GAAP earnings per diluted share from continuing operations in the range of $0.43 - $0.45 and GAAP earnings per diluted share from continuing operations in the range of $0.20 - $0.40.

Two investment analysts have rated the stock with a sell rating, twenty have given a hold rating, seventeen have issued a buy rating and one has given a strong buy rating to the company. eBay now has an average rating of Hold and a consensus target price of $34.90.

The firm's operating margin declined to 24.6 per cent for the quarter, compared with 28.7 per cent for the same period past year as Ebay spent more on marketing as it faces competition from the likes of Amazon. Analysts had forecast eBay to earn 48 cents a share on $2.2 billion in revenue.

Shares of eBay were last seen down 2.6% at $32.99 on Thursday, with a consensus analyst price target of $35.15 and a 52-week trading range of $22.30 to $34.74.

For his part, chief financial officer Scott Schenkel added that eBay will spend the remainder of the year focused on growing its base of active buyers and new experiences and it expects to close out 2017 with revenue of $9.3 to $9.5bn.
