Portland's Nurkic out Game 2, Warriors' Durant questionable

Portland's Nurkic out Game 2, Warriors' Durant questionable

From there, the Warriors stifled Portland on offense. McGee can bring it. McGee's good for those, too.

A calf injury puts Kevin Durant's status in doubt heading into Game 2 against the Trail Blazers, and even if he plays, there is a chance he won't be at full speed. "We're not satisfied. Being up 2-0 with the home court advantage, the series doesn't really start to Game 3". Portland, however, barely squeaked into the playoffs with a.500 record, and they'll be lucky to win a game this series. Durant previously missed 19 games with a bone bruise and strained MCL in his left leg.

McGee made all seven of his field goals Wednesday. After scores from Thompson and Andre Iguodala, Ian Clark and David West would combine to account for Golden State's next 11 points, after which it was James Michael McAdoo's turn. He's just the second player in Warriors history-Rick Barry being the other-to reach triple-digits in playoff thefts, per Warriors Public Relations.

The Warriors simply have way too much firepower for an undermanned Trail Blazers squad. Curry missed four more games with that injury - the finale of the Houston series and the first three games of the Portland series, including a Game 3 loss in Portland. His energy on both ends has been hard for Portland to contain.

"I think to beat the Warriors, we're going to have to maybe make that extra pass more often and be able to depend on guys more often to allow them to have that type of success so we can actually beat them", Lillard said. "So we'll see how he feels tomorrow".

That will mean figuring out how to occupy McGee, who doesn't have to worry about a scoring threat in the post against Portland.

Head to head, the Warriors are 35-17 ATS in the last 52 meetings overall and 11-5 ATS in the last 16 meetings in Portland. They combined for just two assists and made only one 3-pointer between them.

As a native of Oakland, it's always a familiar feeling for Damian Lillard every time the Trail Blazers end up at Oracle Arena to play the Golden State Warriors.

"It's not worth it", Warriors Coach Steve Kerr said before Wednesday's game of possibly playing Durant.

"When he can electrify the crowd with a huge block and the alley-oop dunks and things like that, it's just a different dynamic that we love to have", Curry said. Pat McCaw netted 9 points, starting in place of Durant.

If the Golden State Warriors want to take a 2-0 lead in the first round of the 2017 NBA Playoffs, they might have to do so without their best player. He finished with 15 points, five rebounds, four blocks and a steal, shooting a flawless 7-for-7 from the field and making his only free throw.
