Okla. deputy fatally shot, suspect arrested after fleeing in police vehicle

Sheriff Damon Devereaux told NewsOK.com that Wade was an Army veteran.

LeForce was found in a nearby outbuilding, where he surrendered to authorities, Oklahoma Highway Patrol spokesman Lt. John Vincent said.

A deputy was shot and killed in the Oklahoma City area Tuesday.

Authorities say an Oklahoma deputy was shot following an altercation on Tuesday morning (April 18) and a manhunt is now underway for the suspect.

Oklahoma City police said the stolen auto was last seen driving south on Henney Road from Oklahoma State Highway 33 in Logan County.

Authorities across Oklahoma were alerted to Leforce's flight and instituted measures like checkpoints and search perimeters.

The FBI's Oklahoma City office announced on Twitter at around 2 p.m. that Leforce had been taken into custody, citing the OHP, but further details on Leforce's capture were not immediately available.

Wade died just before noon Tuesday after earlier being shot in the face and body while delivering an eviction notice at a home in Mulhall.

Sheriff Devereaux says that the deputy was shot multiple times, but was coherent and able to give investigators information regarding the shooting.

The deputy's name and condition have not been released.
