Netflix is Bringing Back Carmen Sandiego - With Gina Rodriguez!

Children of the '90s have searched for Sandiego in the United States of America, in Europe, in Space, and back in Time.

Nearly twenty years after the series ended on PBS, the sneaky thief with the iconic red trench coat is headed back to television.

Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego? was first released in 1985 as a computer game created to teach kids geography and reasoning by tracking Carmen Sandiego and her henchpeople around the world.

Netflix is developing an animated series based on the famous character, The Tracking Board reports. Can she outrun the Netflix binge watchers? So far, all we know is that it'll go back to the original computer games rather than the 90s game show. The franchise eventually expanded to books and the aforementioned educational game show that ran from 1991 to 1995. The SVOD giant has reportedly ordered 20 episodes of the new Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego? Moreover, they're looking to bring on Jane the Virgin's Gina Rodriguez.

It won't be Rodriguez's first voice acting role.

There is no word yet on when Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego? will be hitting our screens, but knowing Netflix, we're sure it won't be long.
