Minnesota police department wins Twitter again with hilarious 4/20 tweet

One police department was able to see humor in 4/20 day today.

The police department in Wyoming, Minn., got a viral reaction to a amusing tweet it posted for 4/20, a day marijuana users consider a holiday.

The tweet, posted early Thursday morning, had 115,000 likes and more than 70,000 retweets by mid-afternoon. As you may know, April 20, or 4/20, corresponds with a numerical code for marijuana. A picture sent over Twitter shows a Wyoming, Minnesota Police Department squad vehicle and police officer standing nearby with a net, ready to pounce.

Police ended the post with #Happy420. Also pictured were a police vehicle and officer standing by with a net. Last year, the WPD set up a similar scene in which it made fun of attempting to catch pot smokers.

But they did strike a more serious tone around 9 a.m. Thursday, telling followers: "All jokes aside, substance abuse is a real issue".

The department had a little fun previous year on 4/20 with a similar Tweet of a photo of a makeshift box trap with some snacks in it with the caption: "Undercover #420 stings are underway".
