Isolated showers possible today

Temperatures will soar into the 70s and 80s today under partly to mostly sunny skies. No threat of rain until the end of the weekend.

Sunday night will bring a chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8 p.m. and showers will become likely overnight. Something about nearly hitting 90 degrees on Easter Sunday makes me anxious about the blowtorch kind of summer in store for us this year. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 59. Low 70s for afternoon highs. A few more showers and thunderstorms are possible during the afternoon on Sunday as a cold front approaches.

That warm air could give any thunderstorms a bit more intensity, with the risk of gusting winds, hail and torrential downpours.

Monday. A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2 p.m.

Monday: Partly to mostly sunny, breezy and pleasant.

Thursday night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 a.m. This one will keep the showers and storms around throughout our Friday into Friday night with the possibility of a couple of stronger storms developing. Not only will rain return but so will the breezy and gusty south winds peaking around 20 to 30 miles per hour in the valley. Partly sunny, with a high near 78.

Highest temperatures expected are around 14 degrees with moderate westerly breezes still holding firm.

Tuesday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Despite quite a few more clouds, highs will stay in the low to mid 80s. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 70. There may be a few showers or storms Tuesday through Wednesday.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 84. Overnight lows will bottom out in the upper 30s and lower 40s. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 54.

THURSDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy skies and mild temperatures will be around with a low temperature of 60 degrees.
