Florida Georgia Line take two (early) ACM Awards

From Carrie Underwood to Keith Urban, several of country music's biggest stars turned into excited fans during the number, but Tim McGraw may have had the best reaction of all.

Other performers during the show are Reba McEntire, Rhett, Ballerini, Brothers Osborne, Cole Swindell and Jon Pardi.

Underwood and Urban are competing for the top prize - entertainer of the year - along with Bryan, Florida Georgia Line and Aldean, who won the honour last year.

With a penchant for inventive music videos, Brett Eldredge brought something different to his ACM performance of "Somethin' I'm Good At", starting his song backstage and proceeding to wander through the crowd while encountering an assortment of performers, from contortionists to people trapped in bubbles.

We're not going to complain about the multi-song medley that opened the awards show, but it was overshadowed by a slew of more heartfelt performances to follow. Love y'all and thank you.

Both groups will also be performing during the show.

Check out PEOPLE's full 2017 ACMs coverage. Any statute of limitations on BSB re-appreciation has long since passed, and no matter how sick you got of the group by the turn of the millennium, you can appreciate them now as one of the bedrock pop acts of that era, with songs that have held up pretty well two decades later.

Lori McKenna has been named the ACM Songwriter of the Year for 2017! Awesome feeling, and even better to celebrate it with all of you in Vegas. Brian Littrell, from left, Nick Carter, AJ McLean, Kevin Richardson, and Howie Dorough, of Backstreet Boys, perform at the 52nd annual Academy of Country Music Awards at the T-Mobile Arena on Sunday, April 2, 2017.

The guys had a huge year with the success of their debut album, Pawn Shop, which produced massive singles such as "Stay a Little Longer" and "21 Summer".

Florida Georgia Line will perform their current single "God, Your Mama and Me" during Sunday's ACM Awards.
