Universal DreamWorks Animation Announces 'Trolls 2'; Sets for April 10, 2020

Stars Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake will return to reprise their roles as Poppy and Branch in the new musical comedy-adventure.

Universal Pictures, in partnership with DreamWorks Animation, announced that a "Trolls" sequel is coming up in 2020.

"Can't stop the feeling!".

The animated adventure film, which was famous for its quirky characters and feel-good soundtrack, was released in US theaters last November 2016 and grossed over $342.8 million in sales worldwide as of March 1.

The first film follows Poppy, the happiest Troll ever born, and the curmudgeonly Branch set off on a journey to rescue her friends after the Bergens invade Troll Village.

There's no news whether he will still write and perform the "Trolls 2" soundtrack, but given the success of "Can't Stop the Feeling", it's highly possible.

The second installment of Trolls is set to bow April 10, 2020.

Mitchell will, apparently, be working on "The Lego Movie" sequel, which will be released on February 8, 2019.

The original film also featured the voices of James Corden, Russell Brand, Zooey Deschanel, Christine Baranski and John Cleese.
