Last year, Samsung equipped its ill-fated Galaxy Note 7 with an iris scanner, a first for mobile smart devices.

Without getting too nerdy, the single-core score tells you how fast a device is able to perform one task at a time and the multi-core score tells you how well it's able to juggle multiple tasks at a time. This is the reason why the handset is IP68 water and dust resistant and is even MIL-STD 810G certified.

Unlike other smartphones, which usually see yearly iterations if they are popular enough, Samsung's rugged Galaxy Xcover line seems to have a new entry every other year - the Galaxy Xcover 2 and its successor were released in 2013 and 2015, respectively.

The power button has been relocated to the same side as the volume buttons, leaving one side empty for a cleaner look.

On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy S7 give more vibrant shots as it enhances the brightness and tones down the darker spots.
