He was accused of killing 36-year-old Josh Sutter with a samurai sword in an argument over Medina's girlfriend at the end of January 2015. Sutter then entered the room and Medina stabbed him in the abdomen with a sword.

Medina - who is due back in a Lancaster courtroom for sentencing March 30 - is facing six years in prison.

However in January 2016 he was rearrested by police in Palmdale, California, and charged with one count of murder, Sutter's family say officers made the arrest because evidence found at the scene did not fit with the 37-year-old's version of events.

Actor Ricardo Medina is pictured at the Lambda Legal Liberty Awards at the Egyptian Theater on September 28, 2005, in Hollywood. Medina's attorney claimed the stabbing was in self-defense. "You have an individual here that was the victim of a beating in the kitchen area before he went to the bedroom and closed and locked the door in order to secure himself from any continuing violence".

"Josh don't have that in his heart to attack anybody".

The actor career included stints as the Red Ranger in "Power Rangers Wild Force" and being the voice of Deker, the villain in "Power Rangers Samurai". The actor's IMDB page also lists credits from other television series, including ER and CSI: Miami, but no other roles after 2012.
