For the Kids - Second Trailer for Bay's 'Transformers: The Last Knight'

"Transformers: The Last Knight" features a bonafide action star in Mark Wahlberg and literally larger than life Autobots like Optimus Prime.

The fierce survivor is a refreshing change of pace for the long-running Michael Bay series, which has often reduced its female characters to glorified blow-up dolls.

Michael Bay, long accused of creating films that sexualize women and over-exalt the testosterone-charged theatrics of "manly" men, is the last person you'd expect to have a girl-power-endorsing trailer tied to his name.

But, come what may, this looks unlike any prior Transformers trailer we've seen over the 10-year old franchise.

And then I see the movie and I'm promptly reminded that there is only one good Transformers movie, and that is the animated one from 1986. "Later on throughout the movie, we got to be friends". The key to saving our future lies buried in the secrets of the past, in the hidden history of Transformers on Earth.

Transformers are, famously, more than meets the eye, but the upcoming Transformers: The Last Knight is a lot to take in. In Transformers: The Last Knight, the hunted will become heroes.

Check out the earlier trailers and TV spots here.

Transformers: The Last Knight brings back Mark Wahlberg as Cade Yaeger, who gets help saving the world this time from an Oxford professor played by Laura Haddock, as well as Anthony Hopkins as a regal English lord.

This is one weird trailer for Transformers: The Last Knight that once again focuses on all the wrong things.
