Dunkin' Donuts is killing the Coffee Coolatta - and Twitter is grieving hard

To compliment many new beverages on the menu, Dunkin' created the Chocolate Pretzel Donut and Peanut Butter Delight Croissant Donut.

Dunkin' Donuts is ushering in the warm weather by axing the one of its popular frozen drinks and swapping it for a more calorie-conscious one.

The coffee chain is taking it off the menu because the Coolatta just "isn't good enough", Chris Fuqua, the chain's senior vice president of brand marketing, told Business Insider.

But that has never deterred some people who say they only have eyes for Coolattas.

However, Coffee Coolatta is rated among the worst fast-food coffee drinks for health-conscious coffee lovers.

The new Monster drink combines a can of Monster Energy with Dunkin' blue raspberry or strawberry fruit Coolatta flavors, served over ice. "Almost overnight, that became nearly a $300-million piece of business".

Finally, iced tea drinkers can choose from new Fruited Ice Tea drinks.

How does the Frozen Dunkin' compare to the Coffee Coolatta in terms of nutritional info?

Introduced in 1994, Dunkin's more mocha-flavored coffee Coolatta will be retired when the new frozen coffee debuts. "But, we believe it's time we... contemporize our frozen platform". A medium Frozen Dunkin' Coffee with cream will have 420 calories, 18 grams of fat and 61 grams of sugar.
