Criss Angel Completes Straightjacket Stunt That Landed Him In The Hospital

Angel ultimately needed to have corrective surgery for his torn muscles that made him take a 10-week hiatus from his live show. Angel had spun for two minutes in a straitjacket suspended above the stage, attempting to get free, but instead lost consciousness.

"Criss Angel routinely performs some of the world's most risky illusions and escapes live on stage", Angel's rep said.

Jon Katsilometes, a columnist for the Las Vegas Review Journal, tweeted that he has been "confidently told" that Angel will be performing on Saturday night, although he points out that "we have yet to hear any official explanation of last night's incident". Angel, according to an update, was kept in the hospital overnight for evaluation and released Saturday morning. Sehl wrote, "He stopped moving, curtain down". "He is grateful for the outpouring of love and concern from his fans around the world". Break for 15 mins.

The audience members at the performance were left "aghast".

Criss Angel was rushed to a Vegas ER Friday after passing out during a straight jacket act.

After spinning in vain for about 2 minutes, he was quickly lowered down and the curtain closed onstage. Cast members then brought a stool on stage, untied Angel, and rushed him offstage. He suffered a shoulder injury when performing a similar stunt in New York City's Times Square in 2013.

The stunt requires the famous illusionist to hang upside down while buckled into a double-straitjacketed harness.
