Azure Window Breaks, Country Seeks To Rebuild

A handsome rock known as Azure Window which was once featured as a backdrop in the Game of Thrones series has collapsed into the sea.

Gutted that the "Azure Window" on Gozo in Malta has collapsed in a storm. Malta's Prime Minister Joseph Muscat said that reports on the site's sustainability had indicated it was being ravaged by natural corrosion. It was featured in the series of premiere of Game of Thrones, during the violent wedding of Khal Drogo and Daenerys Targaryen. "That sad day has arrived", he said. The country is now seeking an worldwide initiative to recreate the rock formation.

The Island of Gozo's tourist board also lamented the loss of the rock formation, known locally as it-Tieqa tad-Dwejra, which it estimated that 80 percent of all tourists to the island had visited.
