Arsenal vs. Bayern Munich, 2016-17 UEFA Champoins League: Projected Lineups, Preview

Arsenal will have to produce the biggest second leg comeback in a Champions League knockout tie to avoid a seventh successive exit at the last 16 stage when they host Bayern Munich on Tuesday.

Spanish heavyweight Barcelona, on their part, will be keen on showing their class as they have a stiff task of overturning a 0-4 defeat against Paris-St Germain.

"We haven't competed a lot in recent games".

Hector Bellerin will be looking to put in a more positive display at right-back while I expect we'll see Laurent Koscielny continue alongside Shkodran Mustafi after coming through his return from injury unscathed at the weekend. A target gets set and the quest for achieving that scoreline always brings the best out of even the smallest teams.

The following year Arsenal moved to the Emirates stadium, and were told by chief executive Ivan Gazidis that they moved to the Emirates to grow as a club, and to grow into a team similar to the stature of Bayern Munich.

10 - Since the beginning of the 2003-04 season, Arsenal have lost just 10 of their 62 home games in the Champions League.

"I think it's up to us to show a different face tomorrow".

The German centre-back definitely did not see the amusing side of things in the immediate aftermath but there was one player who loved Hummels' embarrassing moment. "I have since analysed the match like I have never done with any other game".

Arsenal reached the Round of 16 after finishing first in Group A, while Bayern earned a berth to the Round of 16 after finishing second in Group D behind Atletico Madrid.

As Arsenal commit more men forward, Xhaka will become more and more exposed in his holding midfield role and could well find himself in some hard situations where "taking one for the team" becomes a necessity.

Holders Real Madrid, meanwhile, take a 3-1 lead to Napoli tonight, who are aiming for first place in the quarter-finals, their morale boosted by a 2-1 win at Roma on Saturday. And it came at the best time, with the end of the season approaching.

Real are a team who have now scored in 46 consecutive games in all competitions - a Spanish record.
