United adds Denver, Chicago flights at Columbia

The City of Columbia held a news conference Monday to announce new daily United Airlines flights out of the Columbia Regional Airport to Chicago and Denver.

United Airlines is coming to the Rochester International Airport. "What I hope everyone understands with these ongoing developments is that adding more airlines and more routes opens the door for increased economic opportunities for business travelers who see Hartford as a destination where their companies can do business with even more convenience". The Reno outbound flights will depart locally at 11:20 p.m., arriving in Chicago at 5 a.m.

Officials say the 40-minute flights, besides offering connections to far-flung destinations, are a way to avoid the hassle and expense of driving to San Francisco and parking at the airport there.

Cupcakes and model airplanes brought by United Airlines sit in a room Monday for the announcement of new flights coming to the Columbia Regional Airport at the Daniel Boone City Building.

The United flight will operate non-stop daily, seven days a week on a Boeing 737 with 143 seats. "It is important for the community to embrace and support this new air service in order for it to be successful".

In 2016, Bradley marked its fourth consecutive year of year-over-year passenger growth, Malloy said.
