Thousands Of Chilean Fans Organise Protest Urging Alexis Sanchez To Quit Arsenal

After the week that they've had, this is not what Arsenal needed as Chilean fans are organising a march to convince Alexis Sanchez to leave.

In the wake of the humiliating 5-1 defeat to Bayern Munich, Chilean fans have used Facebook to promote the protest which will be held in Santiago on 1 March.

Over 6,000 Chileans have said they will attend a march, organised on Facebook, to protest against Sanchez staying at Arsenal.

We, as Chileans, are exhausted to watch one of our biggest stars play on his own to make his team get through.

"We don't want him to play for Madrid, or go back to Barcelona, the truth is we don't care what team he plays in, we just want to see him fight together with 10 others to get results".

Concerns have turned to panic for Arsenal fans following the Gunners' 5-1 UEFA Champions League humiliation against Bayern Munich on Wednesday, in which Sanchez netted the visitors' only goal at the Allianz Arena.

Arsenal, who are fourth in the Premier League table, are now gearing up for their FA Cup fifth-round clash against Sutton United on Monday night.

Democracy in action. But will Arsenal frustrate the will of the people?

According to John Cross of the Daily Mirror, the club are fearful that Sanchez, who has yet to sign a new contract, will leave the club this summer.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger on Friday confirmed Sanchez had flown to Spain as he has a court case in Barcelona.

Sanchez is in the final 18 months of his contract at the Emirates, and there are reports that he was involved in a dressing-room row after the defeat in Germany.

Wenger reportedly has the option to sign a new two-year deal, but has yet to commit to the club.
