Fabinho's father speaks out about the chances of him joining Manchester United

Pep Guardiola has personally scouted Arsenal and Manchester United target Djibril Sidibe as he considers a summer move for the defender.

The father of Monaco defender Fabinho has confirmed holding talks with Manchester United and City. "We have even been approached by Barcelona, but it didn't go any further", Joao told Telefoot.

"We like Manchester United and (Jose) Mourinho's work, but we have a soft spot for Manchester City".

Originally a right-back, Fabinho has been deployed in central midfield for Monaco for most of this season.

However, the Brazilian worldwide has continued to produce some excellent form this season after being switched to a defensive midfield role, with Fabinho helping Leonardo Jardim's side maintain their position at the top of the Ligue 1 table.

"We appreciate Mourinho and Manchester United but we'd prefer a move to Manchester City".

However, Fabinho's father has now indicated that the Brazilian may yet head to the Premier League after confirming that as many as three clubs in England are interested. He spent his first season playing predominantly as a right-back, though he was utilised as a defensive midfielder.
