Madonna Sets the Record Straight on New Adoption Rumors

Madonna filed to adopt two more children from Malawi on Wednesday, according to the AP.

Madonna has applied to a Malawian court to adopt two more children, after being criticised by the country's former president. "The rumors of an adoption process are untrue".

Madonna wants a clean half dozen. she's set to adopt 2 more kids from the same African nation where she got David and Mercy. She also has a son, Rocco, from her marriage to Guy Ritchie, and a daughter, Lourdes, from a relationship with Carlos Leon.

Madonna's trip to Malawi last year was the first time in almost two years that she visited the country. Rocco just moved to London to live with his father, Guy Richie, after Madonna lost a long and bitter custody battle.

Government spokesperson Mlenga Mvula says it is now up to the court to decide whether to grant the adoption order.

Madonna has shut down a report that she is expanding her brood.

Madonna called the furore "a real low point in my life". Addressing the backlash, the singer continued: "I was accused of kidnapping, child trafficking, using my celebrity muscle to jump ahead in the line, bribing government officials, witchcraft, you name it".

"This was an eye-opening experience", she added.

She had plans for a $15 million academy for girls in Malawi, which were cancelled amid allegations of mismanagement. In July, she visited the Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre to launch construction of the 50-bed Mercy James Institute of Pediatric Surgery and Intensive Care, scheduled to open this year.

The new president, elected in 2014, said he is grateful for Madonna's work in the country.
