The suspect had been charged in absentia with murder and weapons possession, with his bail set at $1million. The court will also hear arguments as to whether to continue Monell's incarceration, with one of the considerations being whether Monell represents a danger to the community, Webb-McRae said. "She helped everybody out but the courts didn't help her in this matter, and she is not here with us today", said Dunn. He was arrested and taken into custody without incident, police said.

"She wasn't going to leave them behind", Dunn said.

Jeremiah Monell, 32, of Cedarville eluded authorities for two weeks after the December 19 killing of Tara O'Shea-Watson at her home. His family members did not show up, but the victim's family did - and were clearly emotional. State Police said O'Shea-Watson was unconscious and unresponsive when they arrived at the house, later saying she died from multiple stab wounds. After his arrest, police took him to a hospital for an evaluation and then took him to jail, where he remains on a $1 million bond. Authorities have yet to comment on a motive for the slaying.

He is being held in the Cumberland County Jail without bail and is scheduled Monday morning for a detention hearing, per new guidelines since bail reform went into effect.

Friends of O'Shea-Watson alleged Monell physically abused O'Shea-Watson for more than a decade.

According to friends, O'Shea-Watson was a victim of domestic violence throughout her relationship with Monell and was attempting to flee the state to Tennessee with their children and divorce him. An intensive air and ground search for Monell over the past two weeks was centered on a wooded area in Lawrence Township where authorities had found his truck the day after O'Shea's body was discovered.
