Giuliani To Advise Trump On Cybersecurity Efforts

WASHINGTON ― President-elect Donald Trump has tapped former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani for a mysterious role sharing expertise on private sector cybersecurity as a "trusted friend", Trump's transition team announced on Thursday.

President-elect Donald Trump has tapped former Republican Mayor Rudy Giuliani to advise him on how to improve cyber security in the US private sector.

Giuliani, who heads a cybersecurity consulting firm Giuliani Partners, will serve as an adviser on finding solutions to cyber-incursions in the private sector and to advise the government on possible responses.

It was announced today that Trump plans to meet with corporate executives who have faced cyber security challenges.

The former mayor now runs a security consulting firm and chairs the global cyber security practice at Greenberg Traurig, according to the transition team new release. "You nearly feel as if you could bring all the people together who are doing cancer research, you might be able to cure it".

"And my belief is, as always, that the answer to cybersecurity is going to be found in the private sector".

"We're so far behind and it's his belief, which I share, that a lot of the solutions are out there, but we're not sharing them", Giuliani, also a former USA attorney, told the Fox News program.

An anonymous source from the White House transition team had asserted that Giuliani fell out of favor for the nomination after Trump decided that the former mayor lacked the stamina necessary for the job.

Guiliani now serves as chairman and CEO of cybersecurity consulting firm, Giuliani Security & Safety. USA intelligence agencies have fingered Russian Federation for hacking email servers at the Democratic National Committee with the aim of helping the Trump campaign. "Number one, it'll give the government all the information available in the private sector", Giuliani explained.

During the press conference on Wednesday Trump said that the USA also needs to defend against rivals like China, which in 2015 compromised the details of 22.1 million federal employees, contractors and their friends and family.

"This is not about me; it is about what is best for the country and the new administration", Mr Giuliani said in December.
