UFC 207: Ronda Rousey doesn't want to fight anymore, claims rival

Rousey defended the UFC title six times, with all six wins coming by way of finish and only one fight making it out of the first round. Since then, the bantamweight title has seen three different champions.

Ronda Rousey has been noticeably absent this week as she prepares to make her highly-anticipated return at UFC 207.

Rousey's rise through the ranks of MMA earned her comparisons to Mike Tyson's emergence in boxing's heavyweight division during the 1980s, with the fighter generating excitement after a string of whirlwind knockouts.

Rousey became one of the world's most famous female athletes during her meteoric rise from Olympic judo to MMA dominance, thrashing a series of overmatched opponents. She knows everything that goes into being a fighter, so I don't have to explain why I am doing this or that. "I don't think she wants to be in there fighting anymore".

Nunes has gamely done hours of interviews in her ever-improving English to promote the show.

Just a reminder that we will have live round-by-round coverage of UFC 207: Nunez vs. Rousey this Friday.

UFC women's bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes. In her last fight against Holly Holm, when she lost in the second round of their championship bout at UFC 193, Rousey was a huge favorite. I think the UFC is doing it for her.

And for the first time the 29-year-old has broke her silence over her defeat, admitting she is still "grieving" about her loss. "I don't look at articles, I don't look at tags, I don't look at comments". A remarkable striker who picked the champion apart with elite-level footwork and intelligent counter-striking, "The Preacher's Daughter" took it to the incumbent queen and wound up taking her belt. She has a solid opportunity at becoming the second woman in as many calendar years to defeat Rousey inside the cage.

We want Ronda Rousey to talk because we want answers. "I just don't want to accept any of that negativity".

The opening of a third women's weight category is another major milestone, especially when you consider that before Rousey's debut against Liz Carmouche in 2013, White declared no woman would fight for the company.

"I'm very happy about this (be honored on the Out100 list)", Nunes said.

Rousey will make her UFC return after more than an year out the ring against Brazilian Amanda Nunes on Friday.
