One dead and fisherman missing as search stood down after boat capsizes

A search has been called off for the final person missing at sea after a fishing boat capsized, leading to the death of another member of the crew.

The incident occurred on Tuesday night with the Coastguard having found one survivor, who was clinging to the hull.

Later on Wednesday, one additional crewmember was found and pulled from the water, and while he showed signs of life at the time of his rescue, he passed away at the hospital.

The third remains unaccounted for, according to the Coastguard.

The UK Coastguard is co-ordinating the extensive search and rescue effort, after the vessel capsized off the Kent coast last night.

A coastguard search and rescue helicopter, two lifeboats and the coastguard rescue team have been drafted in to help with the search.

"We are standing down the search this evening because of the fading light".

'We are now searching for these missing crew with a number of search units'.

Mr Beasley added that it would be possible to survive in the water for approximately 15 hours.
