NFL moves Buccaneers-Cowboys to prime time Dec. 18

They are 31st in rushing yards per game, averaging just 77.5 rushing yards per game and 3.5 yards per carry.

With four regular-season games remaining, starting with Sunday's rematch against the New York Giants, the only team to have beaten the Cowboys this season, Dallas has clinched a playoff spot.

The switch means Dallas will appear on Sunday night in successive weeks; its game at the Giants is in prime-time, too. This coming weekend they can get one step closer to that by securing the NFC East with a victory over the New York Giants. The Cowboys have already clinched a playoff berth. The division is well within reach but the loss of Earl Thomas - and how Seattle adjusts to unchartered waters - should decide its Super Bowl candidacy.

The AFC playoff field will be deep and full of possibilities.

It's freakish to think that Week 13 of the 2016 National Football League regular season is nearly over.

Bills (6-6): They're at 1-3 in the division and reeling after becoming the latest team to fall prey to the Raiders' comeback magic. "They're obviously on a long winning streak", Eli Manning said Sunday night after the offense again struggled. If Dallas were to extend its winning streak to 12 games with a victory at MetLife Stadium, it would claim the NFC East title. We made it tough on ourselves, but that's the still the mindset. "We're thinking we want to win all the games that we play, but it starts with winning the one you have up next, and that's what I focus on". And sure, now the Giants and Washington are in the Wild Card spots, which is a lot like someone trying to pierce your belly-button while you're trying to remove said earlobe from said vehicle door. They then face Tampa Bay and Detroit, both teams fighting for a playoff spot, so no gimme-games between now and Week 17.

One of the most anticipated games will be the Steelers hosting the Giants. "It's not a bad position", he said. "But it's not a mindset for any of the D-linemen, I know that". But I haven't really checked out the whole picture of the NFC of who else won and lost.

How hard is the Giants' schedule down the stretch?

As of Sunday night, there are five teams with a 6-6 record and another five teams that are either 5-6 or 5-7. Those half dozen are now a combined 23-48-1. The Giants lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers, 24-14, last week. With both teams at 7-5 it's going to be a race to the finish for the division crown. Elliott has totaled 100 yards from scrimmage in each of his last four games. In fact, he has continued to find ways to win games when the odds were against him.

Dallas received 11 first-place votes for 383 points from balloting by media members who regularly cover the NFL.

The Cowboys have had a renaissance this season behind rookies Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott, two of the leading contender for the NFC's Offensive Rookie of the Year awards.

The final month of games will be filled with anxiety for Giants Nation.

There is still a chance the Vikes can limp into the playoffs if they can pump some life into their backfiring offense but by now everyone (even those big, purple-faced guys wearing goofy helmets and swilling $9 bottles of beer) know this is not the team, or the season, the Vikes were ballyhooing back in August.
