Chelsea's Oscar to join Chinese Super League club Shanghai SIPG

Chelsea's Oscar to join Chinese Super League club Shanghai SIPG

West Ham United have sent letters to five of the English Premier League's biggest clubs "begging" them for players, according to a new report. Back with Chelsea, the midfielder earned less than a quarter of that amount at $110,000 weekly. The 29-year-old moved to Jiangsu Suning in January 2016, a transfer that surprised many at the time.

Cape Town - It is safe to say that Roberto Firmino is loving life at Liverpool as he has expressed his desire to keep playing for the Reds for "many years in the future".

Oscar joined the Blues from Internacional in 2012 for £25 million and he played 203 games for Chelsea in all competition scoring 38 goals.

I couldn't quite believe my eyes this morning when I saw that Chelsea had made an enormous profit on Oscar, by offloading him to China for £63m. Last year, Chinese teams outspent the richest European leagues with $296 million, according to worldwide football association FIFA.

"At this moment it is not a league where you actually want to play and the only way to bring players there is the money".

"If a player decides to go there, usually it's in another part of your career", he said.

Firmino told Liverpool's official website that he could not be happier with life on Merseyside, "I think I have had to change the way I play". If you ask me, 'are you sorry?', then yes, I am sorry.

'I accept all decisions, but it's sometimes hard to understand this type of decision.

Shanghai SIPG finished third in the Chinese Super League this year and last month appointed former Chelsea coach Andre Villas-Boas to replace Sven-Goran Eriksson.
