Chelsea forward Diego Costa to receive new contract?

Chelsea have been in stunning form in recent weeks, winning 11 Premier League games in succession, but Conte feels they still have plenty of room for improvement, particularly in front of goal.

The Reds are now second in the Premier League table, nine points behind leaders Chelsea, and level on points with third-placed Arsenal.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte will have been working on a "Plan B" long before Diego Costa's suspension, according to Pat Nevin.

Like we said earlier, if anybody has earned some Premier League holiday time this year, it's Costa.

While Liverpool lead the chasing pack Manchester City are also in the title hunt, a point further behind the Reds, with Arsenal in fourth, nine points adrift.

The west London side recorded their 11th successive Premier League victory on Saturday afternoon following Diego Costa's first-half header in a 1-0 win against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

However, Conte is keen to keep the Belgium global on as back-up for Diego Costa, who is suspended for Boxing Day's meeting with Bournemouth. The fox's & champions scored 2 late goals to level 2-2.

Leicester avoided a ninth defeat of the campaign thanks to an impressive fightback in a stormy game at Stoke, which left Claudio Ranieri's men three points above the relegation zone in 15th place.

"I know the derby against Everton is always a special match for our supporters and it's the same for the players".

Middlesbrough climbed four points clear of the relegation zone while Swansea is only off the bottom on goal difference.

West Ham has five league wins this season and all were achieved with 1-0 scorelines.
