Cam Newton visits 10-year-old Auburn fan battling heart condition

After their warm and embrace, Cooper posted on Facebook to express her gratitude to everyone who made this happen. That surgery was scheduled to take place on Wednesday, one day after Deckard got a incredible surprise.

"Just before Thanksgiving, I was headed to an Auburn football game", Cooper wrote in a Facebook post.

Their meeting comes as the 10-year-old is battling a rare heart condition. "It gives me chills just thinking about it".

"We were all crying".

Cooper said although she wasn't at the hospital when Newton visited, she was overjoyed when she heard the news.

Few things are better than a child's smile, and the look on young Taylor Deckard's face when Cam Newton walks in his hospital room says it all.

Cam Newton granted a little boy's wish two days after Christmas but may have gotten the biggest gift of all himself.

He's also visited with young cancer patients before and when he was at Auburn he mentored students at Wright's Mill Road Elementary School. Newton also gave Austin a bag full of goodies and several signed items to cheer him up before the big day, according to The Ledger-Enquirer. A soft "hey, buddy" comes from the reigning NFL MVP's lips and Austin was speechless.

No, Newton did something that's he becoming known for - making a kid feel special. In fact, it is because of social media that Newton even got involved.
