Watch Fantastic Beasts Star Stand Up for Hufflepuff in Emotional Video

The 34-year-old plays magizoologist Newt Scamander who battles dark forces in 1920s NY in J.K. Rowling's new film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. If you've loved the last four Harry Potter films, you're bound to love the man behind those cinematic experiences, filmmaker David Yates.

Speaking at the film's European premiere in London's Leicester Square on Tuesday, she told the Press Association: "The story was conceived three-and-a-half years ago and at that time I was definitely drawing on what I found was the rise of populism politics and a desire to smash the status quo". Set in 1926, it centers on Newt Scamander, a "magizoologist" who arrives in NY with a case full of odd creatures that quickly escape. Their final duel leading to Grindelwald's imprisonment occurred in 1945, and Fantastic Beasts takes place in 1926, so we may have to wait a few more movies before we see it on the silver screen.

Warner Bros. can't make this particular controversy go away, but the studio hopes that Harry Potter fans, concerned about Depp being in the movie, will adopt Rowling's vision of open-mindedness and tolerance.

When the Sorting Hat first introduced us to the four Hogwarts houses in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Hufflepuff was championed for recognizing wizards who are "just and loyal" and "true and unafraid of toil".

"When the films came every year or two, I would love getting this massive J K Rowling wizarding hug".

The first Fantastic Beasts will be in United Kingdom cinemas from Friday.

Harry Potter fans have known Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them as early as the Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, where Newt Scamander was mentioned in passing as the author of the fictional textbook in the Harry Potter canon.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is all set to take the movie buffs to the new epoch of JK Rowling's magical world, but this time with Redmayne as the protagonist. Redmayne's co-stars are actors Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler, Katherine Waterston and Ezra Miller. "It was helpful to me in many ways I can't fully understand".

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them opens in theaters on November 16.

"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" is released in Irish cinemas on November 18th.

Some may be cynical about another spin-off, but with largely positive reviews for Fantastic Beasts, the power of Potter looks set to endure for many years to come. It echoes the rise of the dark wizard Voldemort in Rowling's Potter stories.
