Sakho determined to prove Liverpool worth

Sakho determined to prove Liverpool worth

According to The Mirror, West Ham United are keen to sign Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho in January - but they face competition from Premier League rivals Leicester City.

The 26-year-old defender was suspended last April after a positive doping test before being cleared of wrongdoing in July - too late to be able to appear in the Europa League final or Euro 2016.

Sakho continues to rot in the Liverpool U23 side after a falling-out with manager Jurgen Klopp led to him leaving the club's pre-season tour in the U.S. early.

"I do not know if there is another solution for him to go elsewhere because he does not play at Liverpool".

"I don't think he is very happy - a solution could be to find another club in the winter break".

Klopp said in September that Sakho had to work hard and maintain discipline to win back his place at Liverpool.

And Balotelli, who has scored seven times in eight appearances for Nice, has called on Sakho to join him relaunch his career in France. He is one of the best defenders I have worked [with]. I said to him: 'If you want, come to Nice.' I am going to speak to him about it.

Balotelli is up for playing a part in any possible negotiations.

"For the month of January?" He has four years left on his Anfield contract.
