Gareth Southgate was tasked with steadying the ship after Sam Allardyce's departure and is expected to be offered the job on a long-term basis.

Thirty-six players from Spain have appeared in the Premier League so far this season, second only to English players (143).

"I think we've got some really important players from their club teams and it's about encouraging them to be courageous enough".

In defender John Stones, Southgate has a player who embodies this attitude.

Spain still dominate possession but have a variety of ways to get the ball forward now, instead of depending exclusively on short passing football and a moment of individual inspiration to get a result. Pep (Guardiola) was straight in at Barcelona having worked with the B team.

Hart was noticeably animated pre-match as England went about their ill-fated bid for glory in France but mistakes that led to goals in the 2-1 win over Wales and - more damagingly - the 2-1 last-16 loss to minnows Iceland left a bitter taste for the two-time Premier League victor.

## This is the last of the worldwide friendlies to be played this year and either side would not want to lose this game.

Former Porto boss Lopetegui has enjoyed a successful start to his reign with the national team, earning 10 points from four World Cup qualifiers following a 2-0 friendly win over Belgium on his debut. He also took perhaps unnecessary risks around the edge of his own box in an attempt to beat Scotland's high press.

"It would have been easy to say (of Scotland), "Okay, we have to win this match.we'll go solid, soak up pressure, hit teams on the break and play all our experienced players".

Given his style, Stones will always make errors.

Southgate made three changes for his final game as interim manager, restoring Jamie Vardy, Nathaniel Clyne and Jesse Lingard to the team.

Southgate isn't for wavering, though.

"Our pressing has to be spot on because if you don't get that right against Spain they can carve you apart", Southgate said.

"We are interested in a player or players who are passionate about becoming the first LAFC legend", LAFC's executive vice-president John Thorrington told ESPNFC. If we want to have a Hummels, a Boateng, a Pique.
