Packers' Eddie Lacy Will Likely Sit Out Thursday's Game

Editor's note:'s Mike Cole, Ricky Doyle and Andre Khatchaturian deliver their National Football League picks every Thursday of the season, and here's who they like in the Chicago Bears-Green Bay Packers Week 7 game, with the line from OddsShark.

General manager Ted Thompson made a rare in-season trade Tuesday. He played in 50 games for Kansas City, rushing for a total of 775 yards and 11 touchdowns.

"Right now, I'm learning", Davis said after practice. "I will make a full recovery within that time frame". Considering he was just brought on this week, it's hard to see him having a major impact against the Bears.

James Starks, the lone understudy on the roster the first month of the season, underwent surgery last weekend for a torn meniscus. The past two weeks have been particularly rough.

Lacy sat out practice Tuesday and is set to see foot specialist Dr.

Lacy is receiving a second opinion from Dr. Robert Anderson in North Carolina, according to multiple reports. His move to IR would open a roster spot for running back Don Jackson to be promoted from the practice squad, though it's uncertain a determination will be made this week. "He knows the guys we're going to face, so it definitely helps a lot". The Packers just don't look like the team we have grown accustomed to seeing in recent seasons, but that could end this week.

In 2014, the star wideout had 16 receptions for 260 yards, and four touchdowns in just two games with Chicago. Playing in the Thursday game doesn't give Davis much time to work in the team's systems ahead of being called to action. And even though the Packers have struggled offensively so far this season, it's been no fault of Lacy's, who's averaging 5.1 yards per carry through five games, the highest of his career. "I've been on the sideline". I did what I could (with the Chiefs). "Hopefully my role is bigger". Chicago won at Lambeau last season because they played with the lead and put pressure on the Packers to match them offensively.

-CB Sam Shields was placed on injured reserve Tuesday. Shields will have to miss eight more weeks before he can have the chance to return. "But we're in the beginning stages, so we'll continue to get him acclimated and go from there", offensive coordinator Edgar Bennett said.
