Gary Kubiak issues statement after hospital visit

It is not often a coach out-smarts Gary Kubiak, but yesterday Dan Quinn did a better job of coaching than the Broncos' head coach.

Starting quarterback Trevor Siemian against the Chargers will be a game-time decision on Thursday, Denver Broncos interim head coach Joe DeCamillis said Tuesday. He spent his first four years in the National Football League, from 1989-92, in Denver in three positions - assistant to the general manager and head coach (1989), administrative assistant (1990) and defensive quality control coach (1991-92).

Denver's head coach Gary Kubiak feeling better but will still miss Thursday night's game. Obviously the coordinators will also be involved with that, too. "I still love the work, so I'm going to be up early in the morning working the hours, but I also try to go about it a little different way, not to try to take on everything myself and understand that I have good people with me and I think it's helped me". He returned to coaching 10 days later, but he was sacked about a month after the episode.

The return of offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt - who handled the role in 2013 before becoming the Tennessee Titans' head coach - has had an impact.

"Gary is going to concentrate on Gary this week", said Elway.

"When the linebacker came up on me, that's when I knew I was getting the ball".

Dennison becomes the lead playcaller, with Kubiak gone. As Elway began his press conference at 2 p.m. local time, he said Kubiak was headed home.

The Cowboys and Raiders are back! The way we play coverage on him, it was going to be hard for him to be successful. It's infectious, his energy.

"Kubes set a template for us", DeCamillis said.

"We love Joe D's enthusiasm. It was a great team win, though, because we stayed together and kept our composure". "We need to ramp things up".

"We haven't seen that scheme since the AFC championship".

The Buffalo Bills won their third consecutive game by defeating the Rams 30-19, Tennessee overcome a handful of big plays by the Dolphins to win 30-17 in Miami and Andrew Luck threw a 35-yard TD pass to T.Y. Hilton with 3:43 left to lead the Indianapolis Colts past the Chicago Bears 29-23. Security blocked off hallways so that an ambulance could maneuver to near the coaches' room. "I think we'll be excited out there, to go out there and kick butt for him". Anderson told reporters. "He talks with offense and defense because everybody plays special teams". "We learned a lot from last year's start and learned a lot from last year's season". Matt Ryan was coming off a 503-yard, four-TD game but was held to 267 yards and one TD by that excellent Denver defense. He's not shy about telling guys if they are right or wrong.
