Clinton ally playing Trump in debate prep

"You know I'm in your corner and will definitely be at the debate!"

On Thursday, Cuban, the billionaire owner of the Dallas Mavericks and host of CNBC's "Shark Tank", boasted that Hillary Clinton had given him a front-row seat at Monday's debate, which the Clinton camp confirmed to CNN. Trump tweeted Saturday she would be there if billionaire Mark Cuban, who has criticized the GOP nominee in recent months on Twitter, also attended.

Trump initially posted an early tweet with his threat, but pulled it down because he'd incorrectly spelled Flowers' first name as "Jennifer". She always got things on the back of her husband. Within hours of Trump's claim, BuzzFeed News confirmed that Flowers would be attending the debate. "Cuban being in the front row if his goal is to somehow disrupt the debates, likewise, if Mr. Trump were to put someone in the front row to try to impact things".

"Ms. Flowers has agreed to join Donald at the debate", Judy Stell, her personal assistant, told BuzzFeed News.

Clinton was reportedly spending the weekend preparing for Monday's debate, which will be held at Hofstra University in NY. Flowers' name became well known in the 1990s, after former President Bill Clinton admitted under oath in 1998 that he'd had a sexual affair with her.

Speaking to Fox News on Monday, Trump said that out of "respect" for Clinton he would not be "looking" to pursue such attacks. "I don't know what I'm going to do that exactly", Trump said during an interview on "The O'Reilly Factor". But voters who were too young to remember that time may not have heard of Flowers, who was eventually overshadowed by Monica Lewinsky as the most-famous Bill Clinton mistress. "It depends on what level she hits you with, if she's fair, if it's unfair, but certainly I'm not looking to do that". Beginning in 1999, Flowers pursued a defamation suit against Hillary Clinton and two Clinton aides, James Carville and George Stephanopoulos.
