Twitter Just Turned VP Nominee Tim Kaine Into Your Dad

Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine are still in Philadelphia Friday as they set out on a bus tour across the swing states of Pennsylvania and OH, hoping to capture the momentum from Clinton's historic speech last night. "And I have not changed my position on that", Kaine said Friday on CNN's "New Day". "I'm anxious about people jumping ship".

The three-day trip will highlight the campaign's strategy of reaching out to Republican voters and targeting GOP-leaning areas as it looks to woo rural working-class white voters central to Trump's base.

She appealed to voters beyond the party, praising Arizona Senator John McCain, a former Republican candidate for president, as a war hero, and the military service of the son of Trump's running mate, Indiana Governor Mike Pence.

"I will be a president for Democrats, Republicans and independents", she said. When her husband asked if she wanted to speak at the convention, she said she could not.

"I've been saying let's just beat her on November 8", he said, "but you know what?" "Those are two very different things". Bernie Sanders in the Democratic primary, faulting him for criticizing the president.

Still, Democratic leaders acknowledge the power of the issue for blue-collar voters and others unhappy about the economy.

Trump's campaign sees a narrow path to victory for the candidate who unexpectedly won the Republican primary, acknowledging at times that Rust Belt states like Pennsylvania and OH are critical to his success. Pennsylvania has lost 103,900, which is the fifth most, data show. I'm not telling you everything is peachy keen. "It can be an effective message for him".

The Pacific Rim agreement has been promoted by President Barack Obama as a way to increase US influence in Asia and act as a counterweight to China.

Perhaps the most memorable part of Kaine's speech was his statement about his son, when he said "on a personal level, as he is serving our nation overseas, I trust Hillary Clinton with our son's life".

Mixed into a largely biographical address created to introduce the little-known Kaine to the American public was a testimony to Clinton's character, including what poll after poll shows is her biggest weakness: what American's make of her honesty.

Dwayne Heisler, 52, a Sanders supporter from Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, said he owns a collection agency and sees first-hand the anger and frustration of voters who blame their situation on worldwide trade in the way Trump does, rather than as the result of globalization or advancing technology. "I don't recognize the country that Donald Trump describes", she said. "He's a great salesman, and it's a convincing argument". Kaine "has said that he will stand with Secretary Clinton to defend a woman's right to choose, to repeal the Hyde Amendment", Mook quoted Kaine as saying.

"But the Republicans will still do quite well with the conservative element of the Catholic vote".

"(The itinerary) says the obvious", Pennsylvania Democratic Party Chairman Marcel Groen said.

"When the Founding Fathers arrived here in Philadelphia to forge a new nation, they didn't come as Democrats or Republicans, or to nominate a presidential candidate", Bloomberg said.

"It'll keep people at home instead of campaigning", Cohen said.

Cohen said comments such as those from Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe, who said that Clinton would seek to fix parts of the deal after winning the general election, aren't helpful. McAuliffe later reversed himself, and the campaign has said it's not interested in renegotiating.

"Ladies and gentlemen, we all understand what it will mean for our daughters and granddaughters when Hillary Clinton walks into the Oval Office as president of the United States of America", Biden said.

"He's a fraud on trade", Trumka said in an interview, noting that Trump has supported trade deals in the past.

Kaine, a former Virginia governor, also criticized Trump's seeming invitation last week for Russian Federation to hack into U.S. servers and find Clinton's missing emails - a comment Trump later said was "sarcastic".

The Clinton-Kaine bus tour started Friday in Philadelphia after a rally at Temple University and was scheduled for stops in Pittsburgh and Youngstown on Saturday. "I think we just heard one".

Ted Strickland, a former OH governor and now a candidate for the U.S. Senate, said trade is "the biggest deal" in OH and can be a problem for Democrats if they don't push back against Trump.
