Motorists See Ohio Gas Prices Up Slightly To Start Workweek

Today's nationwide average price is two cents less than one week ago, 15 cents less than one month ago and 51 cents less than the same date past year.

He says gas prices should stay close to their current average of 1.94 per gallon, but will start to drop again.

SC has the lowest average gas price among states in the continental $1.82 a gallon and California the highest at $2.68.

Riverside- $2.62/g, down 6.8 cents per gallon from last week's $2.69/g.

As of yesterday, more than 40 percent of gas stations nationwide were selling gasoline for $2.00 per gallon or less, compared to just a handful on this same date past year. Past year on August 8, USA motorists were paying $2.605, 48.2 cents more per gallon.

Nationally, the average price of gasoline slid a penny in the past week to $2.13 Sunday, according to the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report.

While there may a slight increase after Labor Day, Speer expects prices to continue falling until then.

GasBuddy surveyed 731 gas outlets in southwestern Pennsylvania.

While filling his tank at Allsup's in Whitesboro, Rick Breland of Abilene offered his own explanation, "Everybody knows about the glut of crude oil, so now there's a glut of gasoline". The average price in OH a year ago was $2.45.

Despite the lowest seasonal prices in more than a decade, unexpected events could trigger higher prices, AAA said.

M - Gas prices continued to fall in many parts of the country the past week thanks to an abundant supply of cheap oil and robust output from USA refineries. So it's not hard to find cheaper gas.
