Couple sought in woman's killing, kidnapping

Los Angeles County Sheriff's detectives are looking Joshua Robertson and Brittany Humphrey. Joshua Aaron Robertson and Brittany Humphrey are wanted in the killing of Humphrey's half-sister, Kimberly Harvill, and the kidnapping of Harvill's three young children. They are now believed to be heading eastbound from Albuquerque.

Authorities were considering issuing an Amber Alert for the children, sheriff's Capt. Their father is believed to be deceased, and the children will be placed in the care of the Department of Children and Family Services. Different witnesses have given different accounts of the car's color, indicating it may be silver or forest green.

The back of the vehicle has two stickers.

Harvill's body was found on Sunday, August 14, 2016 by a person driving along Gorman Post Road, which is north of California State Route 138 in the Los Angeles County town of Lebec.

A motorist who was taking a rest during a long drive spotted the slain woman lying in the roadside brush. She appears to have suffered from trauma to the head.

The department at first struggled to identify Harvill and asked the public for help, noting that she had the names "Rylee" and "Brayden" among her many tattoos.

"During that investigation, in the following days, we also learned that the victim was the mother of three children", Mendoza said.

- A couple wanted in California for a homicide and kidnapping may be on their way to Arizona.

Mendoza said investigators know of no ongoing conflict between the sisters.

The couple has family in Nebraska, and ties to Kansas, Louisiana and MS, he said.

Authorities say Robertson has a criminal history and is on probation.

"Out of precaution, people should not approach them", Mendoza said.
