BSP leader offers 50 lakh reward for Dayashankar's tongue

Meanwhile, security has been tightened at BJP State office in view of BSP's protest against Dayashankar Singh.

Singh's wife Swati Singh had earlier said, "My husband is in politics, but we have no political connection but BSP workers have abused all women of the family in a public protest".

The BJP expelled him and an FIR was lodged against him in Lucknow. "Only after examining the video, the Commission will be able to tell what has been said and recommend action", she said.

Senior Congress leader and MLA Akhilesh Pratap Singh said, "Congress condemns use of derogatory language by any one".

Police, on Thursday detained his brother, Dharmendra Singh and question him about Dayashankar's whereabouts.

The Quint reported that Dayashankar's mother filed an FIR against BSP workers after holding Mayawati responsible for the condition of her granddaughter. He had compared Mayawati to a "prostitute".

"Mayawati seems hell-bent upon reducing the matter to a mere caste issue and allowing the gratuitous insults that are being heaped upon the wife and the daughter of the now expelled BJP leader", she added.

"Mayawati had reportedly defended the conduct of BSP demonstrators, saying it will make him (Daya Shankar Singh) realise what it feels like when your daughter or sister is insulted". "Now, Jannat Jahan is making such remarks, a wrong can not be countered by another wrong to make it right", Chandigarh BJP President Sanjay Tandon said.

Swati Singh alleged that BSP activists were abusing her family, including her 12-year-old daughter.

"We are monitoring the situation and party workers will take on the road if Singh was not brought to justice", said BSP national general secretary Naseemuddin Siddiqui, threatening to re-launch the agitation if police failed to arrest Singh.

A visibly agitated Mayawati, who was present in the House, thanked Jaitley and all other members for their condemnation of Singh's remarks.

"May be because of that, Dayashanker Singh has berated her in obscene and obnoxious terms".
