Alaska delegation condemns Trump for Gold Star family comments

"You have a son in the military, how do you tolerate his disrespect?"

Donald Trump said Tuesday that he had no regrets about taking on the parents of a Muslim American soldier killed in Iraq, sticking with his case that the father "visciously" attacked him in a speech at the Democratic convention.

Another Gold Star parent, Bruce Vrooman of Superior while Trump could have been more sensitive, he didn't hear Trump say anything disparaging about the Kahn family.

"All Gold Star families deserve our unconditional love and support for the burden of supreme sacrifice that has fallen squarely on their shoulders", Sen.

Ghazala Khan later explained that she didn't speak at the convention because she was in too much emotional pain.

"It was really a chance to tell our stories, but also talk about problems with the rules of engagement (for troops in war zones) and the failed policies of the current administration", Vaughn told Military Times.

"You are asking Americans to trust you with their future, let me ask you - have you even read the United States Constitution?" he said, waving a copy to loud cheers at the Democratic convention in Philadelphia. The Veterans of Foreign Wars, the nation's oldest and largest veterans organization, called Trump out of bounds for tangling with Khizr and Ghazala Khan, whose son was killed in 2004.

When asked if Trump would endorse Ryan, the candidate said, "I'm not sure I'm there yet", echoing Ryan's own words to CNN about endorsing Trump in May.

Trump fired back on Twitter and in subsequent television interviews, claming Khan's speech was written by Hillary Clinton's speech writers. But Trump is a bull who only sees red.

Trump on Monday renewed his assault against Khan as families of other fallen U.S. soldiers demanded the tycoon apologize and prominent Republicans criticized his disparagement of the bereaved father and mother.

Pence said much of the same media criticizing Trump earlier condemned Patricia Smith's speech at the GOP convention about the USA information officer killed in the 2012 attack in Benghazi. The Republican leaders defended the soldier's family without mentioning Trump by name. He told ABC, "She had nothing to say". Nobody knows if they're ISIS, they don't know who they are.

Ghazala Khan, the mother of Army Capt. Humayan Khan and wife of Khizr Khan, spoke against Donald Trump's ignorant remarks in a television interview on Monday.
