Ledbetter to get help after arrest for DUI

The coach said Ledbetter will remain on the team but will be subject to discipline along with an "intensified education, counseling, and medical assistance program".

This is the eighth arrest of a Georgia football player since the hiring of Kirby Smart. The auto was running with Ledbetter asleep inside, blocking traffic in the process. Police attempted to wake Ledbetter up for 20 minutes before finally jimmying open his locked door. He also completed a field sobriety test. The details of the test were listed in the report as well, and they revealed that Ledbetter was pretty delirious while still intoxicated.

'Yes sir, I'm home, ' he told officers, according to the Banner-Herald.

Ledbetter later revealed he "knew what was going on in the world with cops shooting black people".

Police had a heck of a time trying to wake Ledbetter up. He also explained that he feels like this is a hate crime.

And Ledbetter's troubles don't bode well for the Bulldog defensive line either.

Ledbetter was also arrested in March on charges of possessing a fake ID and underage drinking, but the charges were dismissed. He was released a few hours later on a $2,000 bond. He was arrested in March for underage possession of alcohol and possession of false identification; those charges eventually were dropped. The charges were dropped when the district attorney declined to press charges, believing the evidence would not stand up in court. As a result, it's unknown if this arrest will be considered a first- or second-time offense.

Georgia has yet to release a statement on Ledbetter's availability for the start of the season.

Unfortunately, it didn't very long before he committed his second offense.

It sounds like Ledbetter is remorseful and ready to try and put this behind him, too.

The Bulldogs have yet to make an announcement regarding Ledbetter's latest arrest. I have a problem and have received an incredible amount of support and treatment through the Athletic Department for the problem.
