NFL Draft Rumors: Browns looking to trade down

Paul DePodesta could take a chance, trade down a few picks and assume teams like the Jaguars, Ravens or Niners aren't targeting someone under center.

Per Lance Zierlien, NFL draft analyst for, reported that the Cleveland Browns could be in the market to trade out of the second spot in the upcoming draft. Either the Rams are a cheap date or they went about their business differently than the Browns and Eagles. "In one way or another are off the board in the first four picks".

That immediately makes it cheaper to get a quarterback, perhaps you could get away with trading your first and two-thirds for the third overall pick.

Prior to the trade, Cleveland had their choice of Wentz and Goff, as the Titans were not going to take a quarterback first overall. The Chicago Bears. GM Ryan Pace and his front office have met nearly every single quarterback of note in this class including two of the three ones at the top in Carson Wentz and Paxton Lynch.

In spending time with all of the top ranked college quarterbacks, the Eagles' organization is clearly showing that it has an interest in drafting a signal-caller in the first round. "I think Carson Wentz is a high-level traits prospect", Cosell said.

Additionally, the National Football League reporter tweeted that "teams" are "expecting the Rams to make the California product the No. 1 selection".

On the other hand, it could also create an urgency for one team to still jump to the top to assure they get their man even if someone else should strike a deal with the Browns.

However, on Thursday, after the Titans traded the No. 1 pick to the Rams, Zierlein released a new mock draft in which he seemed to endorse UCLA LB Myles Jack for #BrownsDecision2016.

However, the Browns have already Robert Griffin III and Josh McCown on the roster. We now have yet another blockbuster which has the Denver Broncos moving all the way up from #31 to get the Cleveland Browns #2 pick.

Furthermore, the Eagles would likely give up a slew of picks, nearly certainly including their second-rounder this year.
