Got an older Lumia phone? Windows 10 should arrive this month

With robust state-of-the-art technologies embedded in the first Windows 10 phone, Microsoft has begun a new song in the smart phone ecosystem, giving other brands a big fight.

Microsoft is belatedly planning to roll out the Windows 10 Mobile update for existing Lumia devices sometime this month.

However Mary Jo Foley at ZDNET thinks we will have to wait until next spring because Microsoft wants to take advantage of the gear which will be shown off at CES 2017.

The catch, though, is that what's now available on the Windows Store is a beta release. Microsoft is now experimenting with a large number of business oriented applications and productivity suites. Blass notice that in an email to accomplices, Microsoft notice that the upgrade would touch base in March after the monthly service upgrades land on the Lumia 950 and 950 XL. Hence, Windows Phone 8.1 users are unlikely to face major issues after migrating to Windows 10 Mobile.

There also hasn't yet been information on what the new consumer-focused influencer programs will be; we will update you once more info comes. She noted that the company has had power management problems with its Surface devices using Intel's "Skylake" processors and it likely needs more time to address Intel's newer emerging processors, such as "Kaby Lake", arriving year-end 2016.
